"Who Am I"

I'm an African American Studies Major...changing the world a day at time...

I believe in order to know who you are you must first define yourself from where you came from...educate yourself of your past.  To include, culture gives us identity, purpose and direction.  "Know Thyself then we can define ourselves as a whole."

sunrise after the night,

i am because someone was,
a battle fought and died for,

i am me,
he that is
hers to be

i am one day, father to look up to

i am lover on nights where hate and death is suffocating
hugs and protector when dreams are petrifying

i am he who was created to lead

i am, the watched, by they, who will be

i am, the master of hands she longs to hold

i am the dreamer in the night of day

i am the happiness in gloom of sorrow

i am hope, in the midst of dread and wretchedness's glory

i am...more than biology and chemistry...

i am SOUL
